Maks’ Life Readings

A long time ago, in a city called Hamburger Mania, it was full of very vicious small man-eating puppies. It was a normal day in the town when a young puppy named Kole that was felling under the weather. Kole called in sick to work at the supermarket. When all of the sudden Kole gets a huge growth spurt and becomes KOLEZILLAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!! He rose up from his bed and he felt like destroying so he smashed his whole apartment complex by devouring it all next he went to the supermarket and tore that place down in an instant. Then a great puppy named maks took his crossbow and slayed KOLEZILLAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!! The whole entire city is now named Maks village after what heroic thing he did that day.

Hello companions my name is Maks and for my 20% project I am doing the research of hockey tricks! My progress this week was very boring but helpful. I watched two videos and read two articles. Throughout the process I took notes on notability about Connor Bedard. The things I wrote down were about how to do his special signature trick called the toe drag release. He is the best rookie in the league with 22 goals which is the best for rookies. I found this information on YouTube and NHL network. Next week I hope to take some of the information that I learned this week and use it in my own hockey career along with a lot more of information to follow. This week’s success was getting a lot of notes on the toe drag release. My goal for the next coming weeks are to make different observations on the subject.

If I were to be able to bring three people to dinner I would bring Wayne Gretzky, my dad, Trevor Zegras over a nice Chinese food dinner at Yang Ming. One reason why I want to bring these people because we would probably have the best hockey conversation of my life. The second reason i would want to bring these people is because they seem like great people(i know that Zegras and my dad are good people because i have met them but I’m just assuming that Wayne Gretzky is a great person) i love when people are nice and genuine about ALOT of things. Another reason why i want to have these companions is because I can learn a lot from them they are two of the faces of the NHL.

If I had the opportunity to pick any job, I would most definitely pick a National Hockey League (NHL) photographer. One reason why I would pick this profession is because when I play, it is the best feeling ever when you go to check the photos from the game and there is a perfect photo of you making a play. The second reason that I would pick to be a NHL photographer is because I have played hockey my entire life, so I know when a player would want to have their picture taken. The final reason I would want to do this is because I’m a very good editor so if the photos need any quick little changes so I think I can be very successful in the area of expertise. I also think it would be great to have a job where I got to watch hockey everyday.

This month I read Ban This Book by Alan Gratz. I have not finished reading this book yet ; I am currently on page 96. The book is about girl in third grade named Amy Anne. Her favorite book was banned from the school library. She decides to go to the school board meeting to oppose the book being banned. But, when she gets up to speak on the podium, She freezes up. In embarrassment she runs away crying. Her dad try’s to cheer her up by buying her the banned book. Then, she starts a banned book library with the help of her friends.

I love this book because I learned alot about censorship. My favorite character was Amy Anne because she showed a lot of pride. For example one line that shows this is “ I don’t care how much I takes, I’m getting this book back.” This quote shows how she has pride because she will do as much as she can to get the book back.

My favorite quote from this book is “ I love to read more than anything.” I love this quote because it shows that she loves to read and when she got the book taken away she was very sad and she just wanted the book back. I look forward to finishing this book and finding out what happens with her library.

Once upon a time there was this really great hall of fame hockey player that’s name was Wayne Gretzky and after he retired he started his own ice rink. Gretzky Ice Rink was one of the best facilities in the country. One day when he was on the Zamboni a big sharp piece of roof came crashing down and killed Wayne. The rink still lives onto this day. The kids and the rink employees say they can sometimes hear stick handling and shooting even when they are the only ones there. Some also state that when they work the night shift they can hear him talking and walking around and some think it’s his ghost…

This month I read School Trip the sequel to New Kid by Jerry Craft. This book is about Jordan and his friends going on a field trip to Paris, France. The school is Riverdale Academy day school. Jordan is an artist and he is really exited to see the Paris, the city of lights.

Jordan is a new kid that came to the school last semester. He didn’t have many friends because he is the new kid. The reason why he really likes France is because he is an artist. In this book it shows that Jordan can persevere through all the stress of being the new kid. Another reason why he can’t make a lot of friends is because he gets discriminated because he is a different skin color than all of the other rich white kids at his school.

I loved this book because it really expresses how Jordan is an artist because he is in the best art city in the world. I also loved how his friends let Jordan wander around and have fun in a place that he has really wanted to go to for his whole life. That shows how he has good friends and how nice they are. My favorite character was Jordan because I like how he isn’t afraid to express himself. One quote that shows this is “you guys know I love this city and you guys can’t ruin this for me” this shows that he isn’t afraid to speak his mind because he doesn’t care what other people say about him.

My favorite quote was “ Liam do you ever shut up?” This is my favorite quote because again it shows how he can be comfortable around his friends because he has such a good friend group.

The quote I choose to do my weekly blog about is “happiness can be found even in the darkest of times, when one only remembers to turn on the light .” This quote shows significants to me because it demonstrates that when you’re down there can always be someone or something to cheer you up. For me hockey cheer me up whenever I’m down or sad. Another reason I think this quote is important is because it shows that there can always be happiness no madder what happens. i like how this quote shows who dumbledore is as a charcter.

My hero is dad. On reason my dad is my hero is because he helps with everything in my life. Hockey, school, life. He just helps me with the little things in life. Even when i9 need assistance with friends and if I need a ride anywhere he always hears me out and helps me. The second reason is because he loves me and I love him and there is never any bad vibes except for when I mess up in hockey. The third and final reason is because he my DAD my father you should always look to your parents. He is the only dad I have and he’s the best dad in the entire universe.

This month I read new kid by Jerry Craft. I loved this book. The main plot in this book was a boy who just moved into this private school and he is different he doesn’t like to go outside or hang with friends. One thing he loves to do is draw in his notebook.

I loved this book because I think there is a lot of people that feel left out and need friends so I think it’s good to give recognition to those people and I love that. My favorite character was Jordan because he was the new kid that had to fight to make friends and be successful. Jordan is very different one quote that proves this is “ Jordan why do you always don’t hang out with us your weird” this’d showed that he is different because he doesn’t really have any friends and he gets discriminated against for being a different skin color than others.

My favorite quote from the New kid by Jerry Craft was “it’s not pink it’s SALMON” this shows how the school the Jordan goes to takes pride in there school spirit just like are school here at Hewes.
